Things to do
Boat trips & Dolphin watching: There are several multilingual companies who offer a wide range of boat tours and dolphin watching on traditional Portuguese sailing ships. Some trips include the opportunity to snorkle around sea caves and swim with dolphin.
BloKarting: Blokarting is rapidly becoming the worlds number one land based sail sport, and Blo Kart Europe in Sagres is the ideal place due to the wind. It's fun, easy to learn, and the karts can be adapted for two people and also for disabled.
Diving: The Algarve is one of the best locations in Europe for scuba diving with an abundance of marine life and several old wrecks to explore. There are two multilingual dive centres in Lagos who offer a wide range of dives and PADI courses.

Horse riding: Due to the varied terrain, horse riding is a popular activity in the Algarve. There are two multilingual & well established Riding Stables in Lagos who offer a range of lesions and rides.
Kiteboarding & Wakeboarding: The Algarve's premier Kiteboarding & Wakeboarding school, Airboost, is located on Meia Praia, Lagos. You can 'pay as you ride' or groups can charter a boat for the day.
Mountain biking: Mountain biking is a great way to see the Algarve's beautiful scenery. The Mountain Bike Adventure in Lagos is only 10 minutes drive from the villa, where you can rent a bike and do your own thing or go on one of the organised trips.
Sailing: There are Marinas at Lagos & Portimão. Charter yachts and boats are available from the Lagos Marina. Along the coast visitors can hire smaller sailing boats from Beach Sport Centres.
Shopping: Portuguese markets are colourful and bustling places where you can buy traditionally made shoes, hats, pottery, jewellery, leather goods, woven rugs, table cloths and a whole lot more. Check the local press for dates and times. The Algarve is also full of pottery shops, with a vast rage of ceramics to choose from. They also sell other Portuguese items such as woven rugs, table cloths, bags and souvenirs.
Theme parks: One of Europe's largest water park, Slide & Splash, is about half an hour drive from the villa. It's boasts over 16,000 acres of water slides, pools, rapids, etc. Zoomarine is about an hours drive and features a dolphin, seals & sea lions show, aquarium, mini-theme park, etc. You can swim with dolphins for €150 (must be booked in advance).
Windsurfing & Surfing: Windsurfing is popular in the Algarve due to the forceful westerly winds & many of the beaches have windsurfing centres that will rent equipment and provide lessons. It's also a great location for surfing with it's warm waters and big waves. The International Surf School in Sagres located in Beliche offer lessons rent equipment.
